VBA’s GetObject( ) function is great for assigning an Access object variable to a single instance of Excel, but this function only identifies the first instance of Excel which was opened.  If you have multiple instances of Excel open on your desktop, then you need another solution to identify those additional objects.  Part II of my series on automating Excel from Access describes how to identify all open instances of Excel and determine the names of the worksheets and named ranges in each instance.
