A client recently asked me to write an Access application for them that would import data they receive from some of their clients into one of their production databases.  Unfortunately, there was no EDI format for the data, and in some cases, the CSV file contained over 255 columns; and Access can only import up to 255 columns. To resolve this problem, I created a custom CSV parser and imported the data into SQL Server using the Bulk Insert command.
